Default Air box assembly question

I was checking my gf's air filter today and noticed that there were a lot of seeds and droppings in the filter assembly. I want to open the air box assembly (next to the filter and throttle body assembly) to check for more seeds/a nest but I'm lost on how to open it. I know this makes me sound like an idiot. Any help? Thanks.

there are typically metal clips on the edges of the air box assembly, you can pop them out wit a flat head

if you're referring to the resonator, its sealed shut. If you want to see if anything's in there, I'd take it off the car and dunk it in water or something. You're not going to be able to get it open without destroying it though. The filter is in the box on top of the throttle.... 7 screws on top of the housing, but it seems you got that part already.

I just a quick question what the hell is the resonator for is it to muffle the sound of the air coming in? I took mine off a long time ago and replaced it with an aem intake I like it alot better.
