does automatic tranny vss work on manual tranny?

i have a swap i just put in my gsr and its missing a vss sensor. but my friend has a junk swap but the tranny is automatic. does anyone know if it works?

no. the auto vss had 2 mounting bolts where as the manual only has one

I think it does. I have both and they look the same.
