hi, i have a b18c1 gsr motor, bottom end build. It has JE pistion eagle rods and arp head studs. It has a 9:1 comp ratio. The head is stock besides the aem tru time cam gears (currently zeroed out) it has 880 PTE injectors.
My car was tuned as of last year ran great...over winter i bought a new wastgate tial 38mm to replace my knock off wastgate, i also rebuilt my turbo and bought an aem fuel rail along with an aem wideband.
PROBLEM:
Ok so heres my problem, since i bought a new wastegate fuel rail and rebuilt my turbo and did not retune i adjusted my FPR to run my car rich.. around 48psi so i did not lean out.
I then was running incredibly rich so i turned it down back to where it was tuned at...about 42psi...BUT my car is still really really rich...
QUESTION:
So my question is, is that why do i have to turn my FPR soo low and am still running rich?? is it the new fuel rail?? I had stock on it b4 this one..
I dont want to turn my FPR too low but it seems it needs to be at like 35psi to be optimal..Im just worried im going to lean out. But i have an aem wideband so as long as i keep an eye on that i should be fine right??
IDK PLEASE HELPP!

Im thinking the fuel pressure has to be lower becouse of a different rail....being more opened up and all...
Am i just being worried??

depends what motor but stock b18's are 42-43 psi and stock b16 and ls is 38 psi. nothing you changed is causing the issue. running an aftermarketfuel rail is not going to change the tune. the wastegate would only change the tune if your getting more boost than your tuned for or less boost then you were running and originally waste tuned properly. FPR will change the a/f depending on how high or low your setting it. now when you say 48 psi how are you setting it? if your not setting it properly meaning vacuum line still connected while engine is running then what you think is 48 psi is actually a static pressure of about 55 psi give or take a few. you need to have the engine running with the vacuum line off the regulator and set it to 42 psi and go from there.
ALSO your tune could be a little off from temp changes so if correcting the fuel pressure doesnt remedy the issue then look at the temp corrections on the tune.

This is why i asked, not sure if im just being to worried about it or if it really does need to go THAT much lower...Only thing i can think of is the new fuel rail causing me to have to turn it down so much.
any drastic temp changes in your area lately? other than that lower the fp till its at a good point but i would say your temp corrections are off on the tune

yah, it was tuned at the end of summer, id say a 70 degree day, now its the beginning of spring and its around 50 degrees out. But if anything that would just make me run less rich right? Air is more dense when its colder...soo if anything i should be running more towards lean.
So would you just say adjust the FPR to where it needs to be judging by my wideband??

air is more dense hence more oxygen in the air which means you need more fuel BUT depending on how the settings look on the tune if its set to high to compensate then it will cause a rich condition and if its set to low then it would cause a lean condition

Got it, thanks man. And yes i am running chrome but do not have any datalogging etc. to adjust the tune...This meaning all i really ahve is my fpr to work with. Im thinking just keep turning it down watch my wideband and make sure i dont lean out when in boost.
Ps. where should my a/f be at when in boost exactly??
