Default Swapping B16 in my sol - wiring questions

Okay. I have read and read and read and every swap is a little different. Mine is super simple. I am swapping a B16A3 from a 95 del Sol into a 95 del Sol S. I have the engine wiring harness from the 95 del Sol VTEC, but the rest is from the Sol S.

Same year, just different engines and ECM/CPU's

Do I still need to run seperate wires for the VTEC? Does anyone know where I can find the specific wires to swap in?

Sorry - Im sure I am not the first to ask this question, but I have found during the course of the swap that a lot has been easier than most swap info I have seen online - its like the engine was made for this car (heh heh)

It is said that all Delsols are Prewired for vtec. With that nearly everything on that harness should be plug in play--minus the obd difference from 93-95 to 96-97

However something that you might have stubled upon would be that your motor could actually be 95.5 and the motor could be a different obd. (I want to say obd2, but i'm not sure)

Yuck....don't tell me that! I can tell you that the wiring all matches up, so I guess we'll see what happens.

think about this.. you have a 95 engine harness that came out of a vtec motor.. therefore no wiring is required.. its direct plug and play..

I thought there was an additional wire or two that needed to go from the engine harness to the CPU...Ill give it a shot...can't hurt anything, right?

knock sensor has to be wired in between the engine harness and the ECU, simple single wire sensor. Otherwise its all plug and play. (it will run fine without the knock sensor, but it will be throwing a CEL and vtec wont engage)

yeah but if he has a 95 vtec engine harness then doesnt it come with the knock sensor wire already installed?

Yes, in the engine harness, but it shouldn't be in the chassis harness from the shock tower plugs back to the ECU. (unless del sols are different, i've never really had the opportunity to work on one, they're pretty much non existant where I am)

oh yeah your right.. well having an ek harness is so much easier because it connects all the way to the ecu unlike the dc, eg, and del sols.
