i was driving earlier and i notice when my car warms up, while driving i put it into 3rd gear and it grinds but it goes right in. could it be a bad syncro?

yea i was thinking that too, but then it only grind all the time at high speed. at lower it rarely grinds

 

its starts like that then it gets vorse i am sure every one in h-t had that prblem with their tegs.

 

try changing your tranny fluid. pour in a mixture of Honda MTF and GM Synchromesh modified. that usually does the trick for most people. if the grinding still continues, you have to replace the synchros or bearings.

 

wow this has been happening for me too every time i gotta go fast from 2nd to third

 

first it starts grinding at higher rpm and gets worse over time. i'd recommend replacing the 3rd gear synchro.

 

im wondering if oem syncros are the way to go?

 

is it a GSR tranny?

Do you have the tools/skills to do this yourself? If not, LS trannies are relatively cheap. It would probably cost less to get another one that you know is in good shape than the cost of having someone rebuild yours. I would use this as an opportunity to upgrade to a gsr or b16 tranny, it's like driving a totally different car.

I rebuilt the LS trans that I have in a Civic with a B18A1 and the stupid grinding got worse. I put new syncros in, and it GOT WORSE! There is something that I am missing. I am still looking for someone that might have the trick to stopping the madness. Anyone??? ANYONE?????

 

Was it only the synchros that you replaced, or did you get the full synchro sleeve kit? Sometimes the problem isn't just the synchros themselves.

 

same here but im an idiot and didn't do anything aobut it and i lost 3rd and 5th i suck at life

 

I replaced just the synchros and the support bearings. No sleeves, no synchro springs. Any Ideas?

 

this 3rd gear grinding is actuallt REALLY POPUALAR on integras, i did some research and found out ALOT and i mean ALOT of people have the same problems. EVEN ME. Your best bet is have the synchro replaced.

i have this problem also i have 2001 gsr and im new to everything. does anyone know how much a new syncro would be?

 

That might be because you don't keep the clutch held in long enough?...or possibly you start to miss and release the clutch to early?...something along those lines might be the problem...

 

try switching to carbon faced syncros i havent done mine yet but im told it will fix mine and theyre not that pricey

 

yeah this is a usual problem i think my tranny is starting to now gonna just throw new syncros in
