I used an omni 72- 69 taperbore TB on my first H2B build. Never had a problem. They are cast instead of billet so a lot of the sticking problems dont happen.

I presently use the Omni 70>68mm TB on my b-series build and it works just fine. No sticking of plates whatsoever.

so are you saying that omni makes a throttle body that has a 70mm bore before the butterfly, and then tapers to a 68mm bore where it would come together on the intake manifold? or did you have it machined that way?

YES. There "70mm" TB is actually a 68mm unit. It pissed me off when i ordered a 70mm and when i measured the section after the butterfly, it was 68mm's.

Buy a professional products throttle body, I have one and it works flawlessly and appears to be the same as OMNI's at a lesser cost.

You say it as if you have it in your posession already. If so, measure it.

damn i didnt measure it but it better not be lol BUT as far as how it works ,its the nicest aftermarket throttle body ive ever seen really. Its not on yet but i have open it & slamed it no sticks way nicer then my old skunk2 & many others ive seen. i didnt know about the PP ,hell omni prolly bought a big group buy & took the sticker off & re selling them
oh well if it is 68mm thats fine at least it wont stick.

I got one to, the guy did say it 70mm at the intake and 69mm at the manifold or 68, I guess. Either way it have that oem look to it. harder for people to tell from a distance. its a very good tb from my opinion.

How much power do you gain when you increase the tb size from 60mm (2.38inch) to 68mm (2.68inch) while maintaining a stock collector size of 1.9 inch I.D. or (48.26mm)? is there some magical element of force that allows the extra air injested to efficiently pass through the same small collector hole for a HP increase? Or is there no correlation between the collector size and the throttle body size? meaning they dont have any symbiotic relationship?

I think it doesn't really matter what the facts are as long as people beleive that it will work they will be happy regardless of whether it does or not. Sorta like religion I reckon

Well, I was actually hoping to learn something here. I assume that if the engine is unable to expel the exhaust any more efficiently there would be a negligible gain from increasing the inlet size.
