Is it possible do an accord type R engine swap into my 96 accord, and pass the CA BAR.

Assuming you get the complete full swap (read ecu/etc) and keep everything OBDII fully readable by an OBD scanner then I'm sure it's possible.

KidFrost is I believe the guy with a Type R swap in his Accord, but is in Texas - you may want to ask him if he was able to keep OBDII that was readable.

The usual path for H dub dub swaps is down convert to OBDI for easier tuning and it's cheaper. Unless you're in the **** state.....

I second that. CA sucks. Contemplating moving out of this economic black hole anyways. Now you can't even put an aftermarket cat on. Has to be CA compliant. They're just trying to make money.
