Default Reprogamming keyless entry remotes

To make a long story short, my local Honda dealer lost my keyless entry remote. They gave me a new one, but they didn't reprogram it (i.e. it doesn't work!) and I'm sick and tired of this dealer's BS (long story including lost keys, unfinished work, and now unprogrammed key fobs).

Is there a way that I can program the keyless remote, or am I gonna have to bring it back to the dealership? BTW: it's on a 1998 EX. And no, I'm not a car thief, I just want to use my damn keyless entry!

if they lost it.. they really should be responsible for replacing it (which they did) and programming it for you... it was some sequence w/ turning the ignition on and off and pressing the lock (on the remote) button in some sequence according to my friend.. but I don't remember the procedure.. sorry.. call up the dealer...

The Dealer lost your keys...they should provide you with a coded working remote....ask to speak to the service manager and calmly explain the situation to him/her...you just want your car back the way you gave it to them..its the right thing to do ( appeal to thier human side...it works wonders). I guess you got off easy....My wife's Jetta was sent in for a checkup ( oil change and trans check...was'nt shifting properly) and it ended up being lost....'excuse me..MISPLACED for 3 days. To make a long story short it got sent to auction by mistake and the trans was never looked at. So count your blessing that they only lost your keys...not the whole car.
