GA folk - how far is Duluth from the track?
Duluth is the Gwinnett Area. Id say a good hour at least from there to Atlanta Motor Speedway. Not a bad drive really though. Highway time will breeze by but once you exit off at Tara Blvd / 1941 its another 15 or so miles of redlights and traffic. That will be the bulk of the time.
Im assuming you are meaning AMS (speedway for NOPI)

Duluth is WAY too far out...at least 60 miles.
NE part of ATL on I-85 (the traffic is terrible too).
An alternative to Locust Grove/McDonough, Jonesboro, etc. might be something like Peachtree City; you should be able to cut across via local roads to Hampton from there.

Check hotels for Morrow, Jonesboro, Stockbridge, McDonough. All these are very close to the speedway. Back roads own!
