well if you see them and look good what could be the difference, the material shouldn't be a big deal, jersey silk compared to tweed, pretty similar.

There is no USDM type r replica seats available, only the JDM recaro replicas and they are crap quality. To be honest, save up another 200 bucks and just get some gsr leathers if you are that desperate.
The quality of those replica seats is really low, and not completely safe to drive with everyday. In the event of an accident, the back support can snap leading to further injuries. I wouldnt recommend it at all. The material and the design might look similar but its a huugge difference. Night and day, not to mention they do not offer the performance aspect that a real recaro offers. Stock oem seats probably hold u in better than cheap replicas. Trust me ive sat in a ton of them, and there is no comparison.

 

Only OEM, never replica seats.

 

The ITR replicas were the first seats I had in my Integra. They were more supportive around corners compared to an OEM seat. I also found them VERY comfortable as did anyone that rode in my car.. That I can vouch for. The bolster wraps you in more than the OEM seat does.

They lack quality big time. The material is horrible, they fade way to quick, and tear easy. The main reason I ditched them is because if I were to get in an accident I was totally unsure if they would hold up.

So I ditched them and coincedentally went the same route as you suggested.


Safe, factory equipment. They were nice but lacked that racing feel. Which I'm assuming is why you want a recaro style seat in the first place? Anyways you'll slide around in GSR leathers like no other, and they lack support in the bolsters. After that I had to ditch them..

I ended up buying a QUALITY seat from Status Racing. It's the only way to go. Thank god I didn't loose money buying, and selling seats like I did (actually made $100 off the leathers.) It is a very good possiblitly you will actually loose money if you intend to buy cheap parts that will more than likely be replaced.

My point is, save save save! More than likely if you find a low quality seat, and settle for it you'll end up getting rid of it. Just do it right the first time, and spend your money on quality parts you get what you pay for..

If buying an expensive seat is out of the question, I still wouldn't trade him seats. Those knock-offs are cheap for a reason.

As for the Recaro material I believe that "black suede" your referring to is actually a material called alcantara. The middle section of the seats is black tweed. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure. Again quality durable materials that will last and hold up unlike the replicas.

fake USDM ITR seats do exist, i've seen em. also, 200 isn't bad for mint leathers. shipping seats costs coin though.
