Default getting the monster back.

alright so last year my car got crashed in the front. by luck i was able to save the motor
and about a month ago i bought a ek with a b16b in it, so the only thing that got damaged on the b18c from what i could see was the header and intake along with a craked head but no internal damage. yesterday i went to the shop where i get my parts, and talkd with the owner and we made a deal he gives me the b18c back and i give him the b16b and he said yeah it sounds like a good trade. so now i think that hes just gonna give me the motor stock headers and intake, does that sound right or should i tell him to add the headers and intake on to it for free since im giving him a CTR motor

I would keep the CTR motor if i were you,CTR complete changeover is worth more then a USDM/JDM GSR complete changeover, just my .02 cents.

ok, wait so its a itr motor or gsr motor? if gsr motor...keep the ctr motor, the gsr head is cracked so you gonna have to change the head. your gsr motor w/itr tranny is worth 1500-1800. the b16b is worth 3000+ and its rare to have that motor. if you dont plan on racing too much keep the car the way you bought it. very quick already...imo you're getting ripped off if you do the str8t up trade...shoot if you wanna trade i'll give you my gsr motor for your ctr. mines a jdm gsr with gsr tranny. too much work swapping the motor for soo little...

if itr motor than i would still keep the b16b cuz if the head is cracked on the itr than your gonna have to get a new head for sure...

Is your B18C a JDM GSR or JDM type r motor? i wouldn't trust the shop owner because he is ripping you off, keep the CTR and call it a day.

its a 96 j spec b18c type r motor like i said it has a craked head and bent intake along with the header.. and yeah i told the guy i want my motor and everything that got damaged replace witch are those 3 things, and when i told him that he said he can get me a deal on some new headers that just came out but my plan was for the b16b to cover the labor and those 3 things and i dont think he got that

Yeah man you need some cash on top. Or at least get you EVERYTHING FIXED. Don't get anything half assed. Unless that ITR is complete and exactly the way you had it if not better than, I'd say keep the CTR. I still don't get why you need to lose one of the engines. They are both yours right?? Or is it an insurance thing?

yeah they are mine but i dont have cash to fix my ITR motor so thats why i came up with this trade idea..i know it dosnt sound right for me to give hima good motor and get mine back just the way it was before the accident.. im guessing the shop owner wants to put on the stock headers on the itr and thats about it

Take it somewhere else or just sell the B16 and fix it with that. That will get you fixed up just right.

Yeah. I feel you. In a bit of a dilemma here. Are you in a rush to get the ITR back? If the B16 is running fine I would just say run that til you can get cash to to the ITR back if that's what you really want. Then sell the b16 and get your investment back and then some.

well im not that much of a rush its just that summer is around the corner and i wanted to have my motor put in by then. i got this friend that wants to buy the motor but he said he would do payments and i cant really do that you know what i mean .. my best bet would be to call the shop and talk to the guy really good and ask him how much store credit is he giving me for it

Yeah I know what you mean. Your call though. I just know that for a straight trade you might as well be giving that motor away. Good luck though. I hope you get it all squared away and ready for summer.
