Possible Hondata Tuning... Finally
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/bolt-...ion-k20z3.html
Now this could be awesome. There was another thread up where the OP of this thread here called out Hondata to Modified Magazine when they told our members are SEMA that they are never coming out with a tunable solution.
Well Hondata responded to the thread and said, 1/3 of their staff owns new Civic Si's and they most certainly were working on a tunable EMS.
Take it with a grain of salt perhaps, but hopefully this is true. And it's not old news or a rumor.

hondata has been "working on it" for years now, don't hold your breath. shitty thing about it is that it's probably going to be super expensive (if it ever comes out); the setup for the s2k costs $2k which isn't exactly chump change for most people.
I'd rather have them take their time and develop the product to the best of their abilities than just throw something out in the market and have it fail.
It's definitely not cheap, but you have to pay to play (trite yet true).

thread is a joke. they have said the same thing for the last 2 years. they just want people to wait for there ecu tuning while also buying the reflsh.
exactly. this type of thread pops up pretty regularly on 8thcivic. supposedly hondata has been working on this since 2005, what's another few years?

Everyone saying it's a joke. Yes it is. But at least it's POSSIBLE that they're working on one. To me, it's too easy for them to make easy *** money doing reflashes.
on the site it says that they will not release any info on current projects they are working on, due to people calling, emailing, etc. they said they were working on a programable tuning solution early last year and that it would be out by the summer/fall. now where are we at? history repeats itself.
This was supposedly Hondata's "number 1 priority" back in late '07 when I got my car. Then they released crap for the Fit, S2K and the dual ECU setup. They are a joke. I wish COBB tuned Hondas lol.
They've officially lost any business they may have had with me.

I'd compare their strategy to that of Apple. The technology for a touch screen iPod has been around for years, but they knew they could make a ton of money off of regular iPods if they staggered their release. Pretty basic business strategy.
I agree though, I'd rather wait for a dominant product than buy something that isn't proven yet.

K-pro is pretty proven. It'd the same thing, but for DBW. But it will never come out. Honestly, if they are delaying it in on purpose, I think it is making them less money lol. I know many people that held off buying the reflash just because the rumor of K-flash or whatever it would be called. Now most of them say they won't buy from Hondata again.
people will buy it if its the only tunable program out for our cars. its either tune or no tune. which way would you go? i know i will be looking into buying it when it comes out or IF it comes out
