D16A6 Rebuild
I recently got my motor built. Its only been running for less than a year and is already having ALOT of problems... It has 11 to 1 CP pistons with H-Beam eagle rods. The head was rebuilt and was ported and polished with a 262 cam. I put a 6 puck racing clutch and a 9 lb flywheel. Now that you know what the motor consists of... the PROBLEMS... the compression started at 160Psi and now is at 95-105 from top to bottem... it broke the timing belt a couple months after it was built and when i put one back on i checked the compression and it was fine but now it is really low. Another thing that is wrong is i dont think they balanced the motor cause it shakes alot all the time... and when i first start it up it sounds horrible and starts to quiet down after it warms up but still doesnt sound good. My power went down hill alot and it always wants to die havent coming to idle. I have heard the CP rings are known for having low compression. What should i do?
You should have a stout A6 there! What kind of prep work was done to the block? bored? honed? If so, did the machine shop have the pistons to set the piston to wall clearance properly? Were your ring gaps within spec? Rods torqued? What about the crank? What valves are you using? Was the valve seat surface done? There are a lot of possiblities to cause all your issues...
