I had a 93 civic and it had the same problem. It ended up being the rear quater was rusting out from the inside and leaking down into the trunk.

I've heard the sunroof drain tubes can cause leaks.. If you have a sunroof that would be apllicable.

Do a search this has been covered a ton of times... I'm positive you'll find tons of info.

I have a friend that had the same problem. His car was involved in a wreck before he bought it and I guess the hatch didnt seal right because one of the rear quarter panels was welded in a little off... the car seemed fine but upon further inspection by a body shop the car was tweaked...

My issue was that the third brake light bolts were loose. I replaced the rubber gaskets and put some muscle in that bolt. Been fine since...

Please search, this has been covered so many times.

In my case, my tail light gaskets were fine, but the water was coming in through the upper edge of the red lens on the taillight housings.

You should try searching for the threads from when I was diagnosing and fixing the MULTIPLE leaks I had back in late 2004/early 2005.

From what I've seen, about 60 percent of the time, the cause is the taillight unit (gasket or lens), 20 percent of the time, the cause is the sunroof or hatch (seals or drain tubes), and 20 percent of the time, the cause is something else.
