Default Too much cam???

Currently Im building my B18c1 with a oversized set of USDM ITR pistons. the head has dual RM springs and ti retainers with supertech flat faced valves. Zeal works compression calculator estimates roughly 11.0-11.2: CR. Now Ive found a set of Skunk2 pro1 and Buddy Club Spec 3's, and Ive considered a pair of Skunk2 pro2's.

Now I've heard that the pro2's are too much cams for my lower compression. Is that true? If so should I run the Pro1's or the Buddy Clubs? The pro1's I found are about $130 more than the Buddy clubs, so is the gains on the skunk2's worth that?

I would say run the pro 1 or similiar cam. The reason I say this is becasue compression alone will not dictate what cam to run. The motors that run the Pro2 cam ( that I have read about ) have better supporting mods ie. P&P head, good header, good intake manifold , good exhaust 2.5 or 3 inch among other things.

As far as what would be better between the pro1 and BC's I can not make any recommandation because I am not to sure.

Dude, that is the clearest statement about cam selection I've read in a long time.

OP, you would be wise to take heed.

ive seen a dyno sheet of a 260hp B20 with BC5 cams that sported about 11:1CR. with that being said, you have enough comp for plenty of cams.

Nice, just so many choices out there. I do have a Blox intake manifold and a hytech replica header, along with a apexi n1 knock off catback. The exhaust is loud and shitty but its a free flow. Eventually I'll move to getting a apexi wsII but cant fit it in my budget yet. Knowing that along with having it tuned and having the hardware in the head would anyone recommend me using the pro2's or should I stick with the pro1's. This is going to be going into my DD and I'm looking for roughly 210-220 WHP

The hardware in your head only means that you can run aftermarket cams safely. It does not mean that you will benefit from larger cams. Also do yourself a favor and scrap the apexi ws if it isnt at least 2.5 inch, which I dont believe it is.

Exhaust recommandation.
Smsp 2.5 inch stainless piping kit for $230
Magnaflow or vibriant muffler $100-$120
2.5 inch resontor should be around $55-$65.

If you do not have the supporting mods I mentioned in my first post do not run the Pro2 cams. If you are looking for someone to say yes so that you can feel good about running them you will be disappointed and over camed in the end. I wish you luck.

Marc - Thanks for the compliment.
