just put 2000 type r motor in. what gas?

i just installed the motor but i havent started it up yet due to missing clutch resevoir but when i do get it going should i not be putting 87 gas in it. what could happen if i put cheap gas in it?

You need premium fuel. 91 octane or higher

if it starts pinging the knock sensor goes into gear, the ecu pulls timing and performance goes down

....but yeah...too much detonation/pinging could ultimately lead to destroying your motor.

Well I guess u learn something new everyday. I will put only 91 gas in. I don't want to burst into flames, that would ruin my weekend
