a couple painting questions?
so im planning on painting my crx but the guy that owned the car before me rattle canned it gloss black so i can't just put auto paint over that because it will have a chemical reaction i've heard. so i guess my only option is stripping the whole car. i was reading a thread the other day somewhere where some guy primered his car with aerosol can's and took it to macco and the paint looked great. so is aerosol can primer different from aerosol can paint will you only get a chemical reation if you use a color of paint and not if you car is primered. if i can get away with just sanding the gloss black to scuff it up then aerosol can primer the entire car that would be great because i really don't want to strip the all the paint. also what's the real differece between aerosol can primer and real auto paint primer?
I am no expert but aerosol paint versus regular auto paint the aerosol has no hardener in it. I have used thinner to strip the aerosol paint off my own car before. But ill leave that up to you to try. (Plastic doesn't like it to much) It also depends on the aerosol primer if it will react to the paint. Hope this helps more then it may confuse you
