Default another disadpointing day at the track.....

i went to the track on sunday... and the fastest i ran was 15.9... i got a black top ZC... port and polish... valve job.. intake.. headers.. exhaust... act cluth.. and a few other goodies (60 shot NOS).. i ran this wit a reaction time of 1.3 and my check engine light was (it said O2 sensor) and my tires would not get any traction at all, and my muffler was disconnected...... well.. i didnt spray NOS at the track.. only once and it ran out.. so.. count the NOS out.. i wonder if i can break into 14's wit NOS... and better driving...??

reaction time has nothing to do wiht your timeslips,

0-60 ft is like the most important thing.

i have a crx si b16a and im running a 15.2 stock. i know that you can do better than 15.9 cuz i was able to get 15.2 in my crx hf zc with i/e/h/ecu/clutch

sounds like ur traction is the problem launch lower and get some better tires.
i recommend the new bfgoodrich drag radials because they actually pay contingency if u win any events.

Were you running drag radials or street tires

give us your 60' times in order to see how bad your launches were.

Oh it doesn't? Hmm this whole time I thought it did. Next time I'm at the track I won't be in such a hurry to leave the line.

if you are going to the track just for fun on say, a friday night, the reaction time is meaningless. one you break the laser beam, your time starts.

damn dude that sucks....traction shouldn't be that big of an issue w/ a zc unless you had some shitty bald *** snows or something....low 14's w/ n2o when you learn to drive

Well.. the weather was about 100+ degrees... it was hot as hell...
as for my tires.. i was running 15' proxes... i think they suck ***.... i would have done better with my 14' blackies...
as for my 60'.. i think i had a 2.4 or 2.5

Your 60ft is killing you. Also, get those codes fixed!!! You wouldn't run a 1000 meter sprint with a cast on your leg would you? Why expect your car to do it? If its an o2 code, it probably wasn't hurting your 1/4 mile time though. I could be wrong about this, but WOT doesn't use the O2 readings right??? I may be totally wrong about that, if so... sorry.

Either way, you should be at least hitting mid 15s unless it was really really really humid in addition to being hot.

if your o2 is fuct your running way to rich and slowing you down. 100+ weather is horrable. reaction doesnt mean **** unless its an official race (nhra, import shoot out etc). clock starts when you pass laser. how much does your car weigh? run on a gallon of gas. im safely in the 14's w/ my NA d15b1

Well.. for a fact I know that the reaction times did affect the E.T because this was real event... (sacramento raceway CMI Summer Nationals) they were even giving away a $500 prize for anyone who actually got a .500 reaction time.. which i think no one got.. and as for my O2 sensor.. im sure that it is out.. so i guess ill just have to get one from kragen... or i might have one laying around...
here is what my time slip reads...

Reaction: 1.362
I1: 2.475
I2: 6.830
I3: 10.371
MPH (I3): 69.727
I4: 13.394
E.T: 15.992
MPH: 86.942

One question TorteX... what set up do you have to be able to run 14's with a d15b1??

I ran a 15.3 with a D16A6 with only pistons, short-ram intake, and ghetto exhaust. I had kick *** tires but even with a slipping clutch and crappy tires I ran a 15.8! You need to learn how to launch your car and make sure that code isn't putting the car into some sort of "safe" mode. What are you shifting at?? I find a lot of people shifting way too early and then questioning why they ran so slow. Some guy around here runs 16's in a Type R just because he's afraid to wind it out.

It doesn't matter if its a real event or not. If its a bracket class at any event, the reaction time doesn't effect the 1/4 mile time.... You can sit on the line for 3 hours and your time will still be a 15.999. If you think the reaction time was a factor in your run, then you're indicating that your 60 foot time (I1) was a 1.113 which HIGHLY unlikely if you were running slicks and a lot of suspension work.
(in other words, subtract your RT from your I1 time = 1.113).

Call the track and ask. I'll bet you anything that it doesn't matter. Giving away $500 for a perfect reaction time doesn't mean it had a factor in your et.

Also, don't use a crap O2... if you want your car to run decent, go get a Honda one, even a used Honda one instead of an aftermarket one.

Anyway, looking at your slip, I can assure you that R/T didn't effect ET. Your ET was bad because your launch was bad.
