Default will b16A FIt?

I have a chance to get my hands on an 2000 hatch or a 93 hatch. I currently have a 94 civic sedan with a b16a. I don't have the funds to by another motor at this point. i definitely want to get into a two door. I know my motor will fit and transmission will fit in the 93. I believe it is a cable transmission and the 2000 hatch came with hydro. my question is will the transmission be compatible with the 2000 hatch? or will it not matter because i have motor and transmission?

93 civics were hydro trannys as well from the factory.. actually all civic 92-now are hydro. that swap will fit in either car exactly as it does your car now. all the same mounts and everything. you already have the cable mounts and everything so you dont have to worry about that either. just swap it.

i thought the left front mount in a 96-00 was different than a 92-95 mount

if by cable mounts you mean the hydro -> cable conversion then yessssh your right other then...

mhmmm

and OP:

it depends where you live, some states don't allow a motor that's older then the chassis. i have the same set up in my 93 hatch. its OBD1 but cable trans, and i have the wonderful (sarcasm) hasport conversion kit.

so the answer is yes it will work, you might need a different front left mount if you go with the 2000, along with an obd2 -> obd1 piggy back wire kit. (for the ecu to make the 00 to an obd1.)

there might be a few other things, i recommend just getting the eg hatch if you want a 2 door. there will be less complications with the swap, and it will probably cost you less in the long run.

just get the 93 everything will just swap over. putting a b16 into a 00 will take more work. dizzy, ecu, jumper harness, mounts axles, shift linkage and harness conversion.

x2, unless you like the newer bodystyle enough to warrant the extra work/money
