Transmission oil seal replacement

98 SH. How would I go about getting the old one out, prying evenly with a screwdriver? and the new one going in; I just tap it with a rubber mallet? can it go in to far? any tips welcome

In the helms manual they have special tool for driving the seal in easier. The tool is composed of three parts.
