Car runs like crap after theft/mini rebuild help??
This is a 92 civic. So got a h2b swap done, car ran fine, tuned on neptune. Car got jacked then returned with just intake piping, stereo system, and wheels taken. I didnt try to start it when i got it back cause i thought they might have poured something in the oil or some bullshit like that. So i decided to do i little fixin up while it was down. Heres what i did:
Removed and painted valve cover
Bought 70mm TB and removed top half of intake mani to port
Took dash off to replace climate surrounding piece that broke
Had to replace broken radiator from tow truck guys
Rebuilt my tranny
Now basically when i start it, it wont idle by itself. When you rev and hold it at a certain rpm it sputters. Pulled a plug and it was black and smelt like gas so it seems if its getting flooded. Tb had a throttle position sensor on it from the previous owner that i re-used. I didnt remove plug wires when i took the valve cover off, so there still correctly hooked up. Any ideas or something that i can check? My next move i guess is to replace the TPS with my old one from the stock tb. Could it be throwing something off with the bigger tb and no intake pipe on it?

Nope took the map off last night to replace the one that came with the TB with my previous stocker and o ring was there. Cleaned off the area and o ring and reassembled. Didnt change anything though. Im thinking its something with the tb or sensors on it.
I didnt take it off the TB when i bought it so i guess it could be off. Im going to change it back to the one that came with my car since i know it works. But how do you set them? When i put the one on my stock TB it just fell into place didnt need adjusting or anything
well, you got lucky then. you need to adjust the screws and backprobe the connector to measure the voltage at closed and @WOT. Forgot the specs, but thats the gist of it. Consult your manual.
Cool i got a manual and a voltometer so i think i should be able to handle that. Ill give that a check tonight thanks for the suggestions

Ok so the manual says .5V at full close and 4.5V approx. at full open. Well i set it to .5V at full close and when i floor it it goes to 6.7V at full open. What would cause this? Is this alright or will this cause a problem?
Ok i got it to .5V at full close and 4.45 at full open so thats pretty much perfect. Car still runs like crap when you start it. It will idle but real rough. Then if you blip the throttle it wont go back to idle it will die out. I also kept the iacv valve plugged in but re-routed the water lines into the thermostat housing. There is no CEl but would that mess with anything?
Ok i finally got it figured out. I bought one of those plastic gaskets for my 70mm TB, well that had to be blocking a air passage or something. I put the paper gasket i got with the TB and everything works fine. I wonder what caused that. Oh well im just happy its running good
hey my car is doing the same thing.. i gotta a6 with z6 head and it goes up and down with idle at 2000 rpm.. and the throttle is all or nothin.. are u saying that u replaced the tb gasket and it ran just fine.. cuz mine is brand new any other things to do?
that is nowhere near the same problem, go start your own thread
Dude it sounds as if you got a vacume leak. Check and make sure the gasket sealed and all vac lines are plugged or hooked up
