got a complete nitrous kit for $250 and was wondering what else i need to do. to make this work?

 

id say ask han, but he died a couple of years ago when he flipped his car in tokyo and **** exploded, try vin diesel

well what all do you have with your kit. . . knowing what you have will lead to finding out what you still need and need to do. what car is this going in? motor? obd??? also is the kit wet? dry? are you using an rpm activated window switch or not?

 

if you have the complete kit you dont need anything but a tune. i wouldnt do the ol backyard retard the timing and put some colder plugs and a fpr on it...

depending on your tuning software you might not need any full throttle switches or anything. my nitrous is activated by ectune. i have a arming switch and thats it. ectune turns the nitrous on when its armed, at 100% throttle, after 3000 rpm and over 40mph... (middle of second gear) and turns it off when my full throttle shift is activated

edit: along with activating the nitrous it also jumps the ecu to my nitrous map, retarding the timing and adding fuel even with a wet shot

 

that's pretty sweet. is your nitrous map a dyno tuned map?

 

i would never drive a modified car without a tune... every honda i own is dynotuned.

 

If you're set on nitrous I would spend an extra couple hundred bucks and get a Zex wet kit. It comes with a computer box that determines how much fuel it adds in and you don't need a tune to use it.

However, If I were you i'd steer clear of nitrous because using nitrous is like using a credit card. Instant gratification, but you're going to be paying for it for a long time (paying $40 every time to refill a 10lb bottle).
Save your money and turbo it... that's where it's at. Once you have all the parts installed and the tune (assuming you do everything right and the engine is in good shape), all you'll be paying extra for is premium fuel at the pump, which equates to around a $2.50 increase every time you fill up.

The other catch... turbo is street legal. Nitrous is not.

 

nitrous is perfectly fine to use... screw the zex box. i've seen those things melt plugs too many times (work at a shop where cars are tuned all day long). just get a good wet kit and get it tuned...

nitrous is street legal as well... there is nothing illegal about having nitrous hooked up in your car. maybe in california? but you can't even sneeze out your window in california.

my daily driver car is being built right now. wiseco 12.5-13:1 compression ls/vtec w rod bolts and head studs full race port and polished head, full sk2 upper half w/ pro 2's. with a direct port 100 shot. (race gas will be used when sprayed)

should make over 300 on the spray

 

Nitrous is illegal in most states in one way or another. Some you can't have the bottle hooked up on the street. That seems to be the most common law. In some other states, like New Jersey, you can have nitrous on the streets but you have to have a permit.

 

the kit it is a zex dry kit which i know wet is better. comes with the comuter box 2 bottles and a purge kit. only thing its missing is the nozzles. idk if it has a WOT switch. the motor is a b7 z6 mini me with I/H/E.
