4th Gen auto tranny
I recently purchased a 94 si. It is all stock to my knowledge. When I first got the car everything was good. But now the tranny is giving me some problems. It shifts way to soon. By the time I get to 35 mph it is in 4th gear even with the pedal to the floor. Also when going down the road and put the pedal to the floor it doesn't kick down like it used to. The cable from the throttle body to the tranny is hooked up and adjusted properly. Any suggestions to fixing this is much appreciated
is your transmission light flashing a code, usually the "d3" or "d4" light will start blinking, check for any trouble codes first.
what color is your trans fluid? hows it smell?
does your speedometer work? the computer needs to see vehicle speed to shift properly it could be a bad speed sensor too.
possible that the internal "kick down" valve (the one attached to the throttle cable) inside the transmission is clogged/stuck, this could be checked with a transmission pressure gauge
