Default replacing air filters k&n filter to local autozone and pepboy filter

Would it be alright if I just go out and buy the $20 air filter from my local autozone or pepboy and replace it on my aem cai instead of using the k&n filter and using that filter kit to recharge it?? How are those pepboy and autozone filter like? Cheap? Suck? Thanks for all help.

So it would be better to clean the k&n filter instead of buyin the cheap filter from autozone or pep boy???? I mean its like no hassle if you buy it but if you were to clean the k&n filter you would have to oil it up let it dry and stuff mostly caution thing is tryin to not over oil the filter. Do you just oil the filter and let it air dry or you just oil the filter and bolt on and go???

omg yes! the k&n filters will run for like 100,000 miles if you clean them every 10k or so.
