Wondering if any of you know which lip kit this is
Hey all,
Long time browser, first time poster on here. I have 2007 Civic SI sedan with a Mugen rear spoiler on it. For some time now I've been trying to find a rear lip to lower the rear bumper and offset the spoiler a bit. The HFP was too plain/not low enough to do it for me. I was originally going to go with the Mugen SI's rear lip (it's perfect imo), but the cost of $600+ with painting and install kind of drove me away. I found these pics on 8th civic and I was wondering if you folks knew which rear lip this was.

If you know what the front lip is, wouldn't mind knowing what that is either. More curiosity than anything, though, as I have the HFP front lip and I'm satisfied with it for now.

I don't care if you think it's rice or not. The front is a tad cheap looking (those vents in it kill it for me), but I think the rear lip flows quite nicely with the side skirts (which I have and waiting to install).
Thanks for any help!

that front is passwordjdm i think
the sides are mugen knock offs
the rear looks like it might be a usdm mugen knock off

How did I know Rico would have something negative to say about this.. last I knew, you had a DCRH on your car, so forgive me if I find it ironic you find this kit less than "good".

Why not pm the OP of the 8thcivic thread?
The sides, as someone mentioned, are unpainted Mugen replica side skirts, front, looks like a replica password jdm, the actual on doesn't have those two vents as far as I know.

I'm not a member of 8thcivic. The front lip isn't the password JDM lip - that one is a lot more "bulbousy" and hideous looking. This one would be nice sans the vents in it.
Well, it's a budget header. The mild steel used in it can rust easily. The flanges are thin (therefor weak). Flex pipe is known to go badly on them and leak easily. Welds aren't the greatest.
It's ok for what it is.. cheap gains. However, the worst that can happen with a cheap aesthetic mod (generally) is it looks bad. With a cheap header like the DCRH, you risk CEL's, exhaust leaks, parts breaking (and therefor hampering your ability to drive). I just find it a bit ironic someone who would buy a cheap header would knock someone for having a cheap lip kit.

it was more a matter of aesthetics than build quality, i think. but everyone has their own tastes. the rear bumper reminds me of the black widow kit though, ill leave it at that
oh really?? how come i have not heard of any problems with the dcrh but with the buddly club, i hear of leaks and cracks?? and it retails for twice as much as the dcrh?
personally i have it and i've had no problems with it.
i also have another header that im waiting to install, but
im waiting until i find the exhaust i want.

and the flex pipe was an issue on the ep3.
not the fg/fa.
read my above post when you get the chance.

And CELs are pretty much a guarantee with ANY race header since they all eliminate the catalytic converter. Surely someone as smart as you would know that. Right? That's why they made CEL eliminators that plug right over the secondary O2 sensor. No CEL for the entire time I've had the header.
Second......That DCRH in conjunction with the SRI I have accounts for a 20whp increase in my car's power output as measure on a Mustang dyno.
I bought this header not long after I bought my car...which is an '06 model. When I bought the header most of the other brands available today were either not available at the time I purchased this one....or I did not know of them yet.
So that little "budget header" isn't really such a bad deal after all. And since my gains are significant and the header has given me no problems whatsoever.....forgive ME for following the age-old philosophy of "DON'T FIX IT IF IT ISN'T BROKEN!"
I would much rather have a NON-visible budget race header that I know is giving me good gains and no trouble than roll around with a cheap knock-off oversized and under-styled lip kit plastered to the bottom of my car.
But hey that's just MY opinion anyway. Good luck getting your lip kit!

you're going to have a tough time finding a name brand header that rusts faster than a dc, as most other headers are stainless steel. the only thing the ceramic coating does is delay the rusting, not prevent it completely. say what you want, but ceramic coated headers WILL rust faster than stainless steel. i'm not saying the dc header isn't worth buying, but there's a reason why it's cheaper than most others.

theres a reason why i dont like coming onto honda-tech other than to help other people out, ask people that know what they are talking about some questions that i have, and look up info on car meets. when people start knocking on other people for stuff they have on their car, thats where it just gets ridiculous. i only stepped in on this dcrh argument because someone im not sure who it is, brought it up. and since i've had no problems and i have it on my car, im going to defend it. and if you want to talk about headers, i have a $1200 one waiting for me at the shop.
hmm im not really sure about that man. i've had my header on for about a year now, its been through the 4 big storms so-cal just had with non stop raining, and my header has no rust
