Loud whining noise when steering wheel is turned
I was attempting to bleed the power steering fluid by removing one of the hoses in front of the reservoir and now i cant get the whining noise to go away.
I tried to turn the wheel lock to lock and the sound has gotten quiter, but the sound is still there.
Anyone know how to remedy this problem? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Did you use HONDA power steering fluid? If not then thats why. Can you see it foaming up in the resivoir?
Also, if you ran the pump with no fluid for more than a min or so you probably burned up the pump.
Why were you trying to "bleed" it?

The reason why I was bleeding was because I had a leak on one of the hoses connected to the reservoir. I figured that the system was opened and needed to be bled afterwards.
P/S pump gone bad?
Well if it rains it pours. Now im getting hit with some repairs and all at the same time. I havent done anything serious to this car since, I first bought it back in 03. Oh well, its due.
How difficult is it to replace the P/S pump? I just called to see how they would charge to replace a power steering pump and they quoted me $375 out the door. Good deal or just do it on my own?
What do you guys think?
