how does compression effect you car getting bar'd
Ok I am build a jdm b18c bottom end and I want get it resleeved and put some 12:1 compression pistons in. I want to also get the car bar'd as a 97 spec type r. I have all the sensors so that's not the problem. But I keep hearing that if I raise the compression higher then the type r stock form I will have issues. And since I don't want to adjust anything on the stock usdm ecu. I have a problem. So what could I do other then swapping out pistons after the motor has been ref'd? Thanks. Please keep negative comments to yourself.
If you want to raise the CR higher than stock, you will need to get it re-tuned and there are multiple ways to do that. You could run a socketed p28, so you dont have to touch the stock ecu. If you want to run the stock ecu with stock program then you are limited to light mods like i/h/e.
What do you mean by a socketed p28? I have a p28 w/s100 also but I was told that I need the usdm ecu that goes with the motor. What if I ran a thick head gasket? I'm not really sure but that all I can reallt think of doing.
