Traded In - LX For EX
Here's the story...
I bought a 2007 Galaxy Grey LX Manual Coupe brand new in January of 2007. I loved that car. I had always wished I had sprung for the EX at the time, but because I had just wrecked a Jeep Liberty Renegade that I only had for about 8 months, and had some negative equity on that vehicle, I went for the more economic route.
I started working for a Volvo dealership 10 months ago, and during that time we took in on trade a like-new 2006 EX coupe in Atomic Blue with an automatic transmission, and only 16,000 miles! The car was simply pampered. I had it in my sights for a long time, but it didn't make sense to swap out then given the price we were selling it for. The owner of the corporation finally dropped the price to a veeerrrry low number, and I couldn't pass it up.
My LX had 43,000 miles on it, so I've now got a pratically new 2006 EX with a fraction of the miles on it, still under factory warranty. I did some work to the LX, like tinting and some suspension tuning, but it's all good. I'll probably just tint out the windows again, and will definately put my Konig Quiz wheels back on this new EX.
Are there any quirky things I should know about the 2006 EX coupes? My '07 LX manny ran like a top, and I'm assuming that this car will do the same, but I figured I'd ask around.

Honestly, it seems like a waste of time, money and energy to trade in for a sunroof, disc brakes, steering wheel controls, better sound system and a few of the other small things an EX has over the LX. Especially if you're trading in an 07 for an 06.
If you must, go for it. 06 has more or less the same quirks the 07+ do.

i don't think it's worth spending the $ to go from lx to ex. personally i couldn't care less about the sunroof, which is the main difference between lx and ex.

For an automatic transmission, sunroof, 4 wheel disc brakes, built-in Nav, better stereo system, Sat. Radio, bluetooth, much lower miles, much lower interest rate, lower monthly payment, and more... all worth it to me. Don't get me wrong, the LX was great; I loved that car. There are simple creature features, on top of practical reasoning, and the can't-pass-up price that made the whole swap out worth while. If you were in a position to get more for less... temptation could get the best of you, too.
I'm happy with it, and that's all that matters anyway. I'm glad to hear that there aren't any major quirks with the '06s vs. the '07s.
