Default Acouple Quick Paint Questions! LOOK@

ready and have the money to get the car painted.

95 dx coupe.

just got a few questions since im new to the paint thing and never had a car painted before:

1. is other Vechicle paint (bmw,pontiac,dodge etc..) the same price as Honda/acura paint.
-is it easy to get?
in baltimore maryland. theres keystone honda which sells the honda.acura piant
-where do you go to get other Make-colors of paint?
-any where to see the paint codes for The other types of paint?

2. Looking for 2 threads. " post you maaco paint job "
-thinking about going to the certified maaco by my house
----- Also is there any thread that has the honda/acura paint codes W/ pics of the piant on the car to show?

3. Should every car be sanded/scuffed before paint? what are the steps before paint
-im looking to take my car to whoever ready to go
-any type of special/recomended sand paper to use when sanding?
-does every car need to be primered before paint?

4. Anyone Familiar witht he Baltimore Maryland area. and have any recomendations on where to go?

1. no there not the same price some colors are more expensive then others. check a phone book and look under auto paint supplies. there are books with car paint codes from different makes you can get.

2. cant help u here. it seems to be hit or miss with maaco. maaco here sucks

3. yes ever car should be sanded or scuffed before paint. it should also be wiped with wax and grease remover before you sand or scuff. i use mostly M3 stuff. if your gonna have it painted with no body work just scuff it. if there is body work sand with 320grit, prime and wet sand with 600.

4. cant help you here either

ok thanks for the input.

for #2 i was looking for the maaco thread here on honda-tech.

and for #3 i found 400 and then 600? is that correct?
