Ok the guy i bout my car from painted it himself. He did a good job to. It looks real nice but he didn't put a clear coat on it. And he didn't bother to tell me when i bout the car. So now there are little chips on the front of the car from road dabrie. (witch the clear coat is sapost to block) So my question is, what would it cost to put a clear coat on? and to fix about 10 little chips?????????

 

the chips should be an easy fix. just sand them down and spray back over it. Or get some touch up paint. As for clear coat cost, im not sure how much, just take it to macco. im sure they could do it for no more then $100

 

some paints are designed to not have a clear coat. And some types of paint you can't clear coat, it'll just peel right off. there's a proccess that a lot of window tint shops are doing now to put a thin layer of clear plastic on the nose of your car to keep it from chipping.

 

i guess you'll have to change your signature now

 

Ive asked a body shop about clear coating over an already painted car and they said it cannot be done. You have to repaint the entire car or the clear coat won't stick.
