Default F1 Racing Flywheel question

Hi All,

Has anyone purchased a F1 Racing Flywheel from www.gripforce.com? I got mine last week but was informed by my mechanic that the pilot bearing opening on the flywheel was machined too big. So the pilot bearing just falls out if he tips the flywheel over.

I emailed them and they said this is normal since the flywheel will be bolted to the engine and the bearing won't fall out. But wouldn't the loose pilot bearing cause damage to the flywheel and other parts if there is too much play?

Has anyone had the same experience with this product?

Thanks,

how much clearance? is there a measurable difference, or just very light slop?

the pilot bearing should not fall out it should have to be tapped or pressed in

the difference is very small. I don't notice any movement on the bearing if i try to move it around in the flywheel. But if i turn the flywheel over the bearing falls out.

F1 is GARBAGE!!! period... I did an install for a friend and we could not use his pressure plate bolts because of the threads not matching.. They machined standard thread pitch vs metric.. Also, the bearing SHOULD sit snug, but it shouldnt matter tooo much as the flywheel should be able to spin freely anyway.. Only thing that could happen would be it making noise... Once the clutch is installed with the flywheel and then the trans goes in , the bearing would not be able to fall out or move to damage anything other then the place the bearing is in.. I still would not use that junk.. get a findanza..

the quality control isn't the greatest that's for sure. my mechanic didn't feel comfortable installing the flywheel with the loose pilot bearing. He just resurfaced the stock one. But i still find it weird the company says that's normal for the bearing to be loose.
