Default pre and post 98 spec header

whats the performance difference in the pre 98 spec itr header vs. the 98+ spec? theres a clear difference in the runners so there must be a power difference?

cant be much pre98's had 195hp and 98+ had 200 hp

not true. both are rated at 200hp, the difference is in the torque. only the 10:6-1 USDM R was rated at 195hp. the 98+ had a hair bit more torque earlier on that's due in part to the header. the 1/4 mile times were identical. actual test footage is on youtube if you care to search. the biggest difference is weight and cosmetics. the pre 98 header looks like a GSR manifold on steroids but it's actually a really good performing piece that you can find for around $150

kool beans i bought a jdm 97 spec for 100. was wondering if it was even worth the money finding a 98 spec... but apparently ill be better off saving for a hytech or toda :-\

110% correct. the difference is not worth spending your money. if you do upgrade get a real one like you have mentioned.
