I was thinking about purchasing a type R shift lever instead of going with something else like skunk2 or something. When I look up the shifter lever it seems that there are two different ones. In 97-98 it gives me the parts code: 54101-ST7-000, and in 2000-2001 it gives me the parts code: 54101-ST7-Z00. The 97-98 spec shifter is a bit more expensive also. I was wondering if there are any differences between the two, and if so, what are they? Is one of a better qualitly/feel? Also, are they both dual bend? Any light shed on the subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

97-98 you get the leather wrapped **** with red stitching, 00-01 is the aluminum **** with the red numbers. Both are great IMO just depends on what you like.

Oh I was talking about the actual shift lever, not the ****. Sorry, guess I wasn't specific (edited). Thanks for the info though. Still wondering what the difference is in the lever itself between the years.

But, the one on the far left will shift with less movement.
