Default 97 DX needs a starter, choices?

The girlfriend's 97 DX needs a starter. I'm just wondering if you guys had any luck with any specific brand before besides the OEM one which costs an arm and a leg. Also, is it possible I could put the starter from my 94 EX (D16Z6) onto it? Both cars are manual transaxle. Thanks.

the starter from the old car should work fine... the trannys are the same bolt patern, same flywheel.
I would NEVER buy a new starter as they can be found everywhere for cheap (especially d series). just ask around, someone has one in a pile. I probably have 4 siting out in the shop lol

Well, I came to find out it was a bad battery and not the starter. The battery wasn't taking a charge but for some reason the interior lights and headlamps still worked fine and weren't dim. Just for ***** and giggles I tried the starter from my 94 EX and it fit the 97 DX without a problem. Most likely since I have the 97 starter out and my 94 one in I'm going to clean up the contacts and starter and put it back into her car then put the 94 one back into the 94.
