rear ef hatch speakers
Where is every one mounting ef speakers in the back? I don't want to cut up my cargo cover it took me a while to find a good one. I was thinking on the rear covers that bolt up and hold the cargo cover. has any one done this? how did it turn out? thanks,
Wil

You should spend your time, money and effort on front speakers, there is no real need for rear speakers unless you are running a surround sound system.
Stereo is 2 channels, left and right, not left and right front and rear.
With that said, mounting speakers to anything but a solid and flat surface that is airtight for at least the diameter of the speaker from the outside edge of the speaker all the way around will result in poor SQ.
What is it you are looking for the rear speakers to do? 94

thats weird i've owned a few si's and no rear speaker housings maybe some one swaped them out first? I just like sound all over and I have a sub I'm putting in the hatch so I don't think it'd sound all that great with just front's and one sub. I like my mid's and highs alot. I have a set of infinity kapa components I'm installing up front(I know their old but I love them and the sound quality). I'd just like somthing maybe 5 1/4-6 1/2.
thanks,

I have a 90 civic hatch and I got the rear speaker pods and I currently have 6 1/2'' in them. Take your time look on e-bay, craiglists, and the junk yard you will eventually find them. Looks cleaner than cutting a hole in your cover.
