Default Ls/Vtec Help!!! Please help me out

I have a B18B bottom in on a B16A2 head. Im having some problems timing it. The up arrows on the cam gears are striaght up as normal and the timing marks are alligned to each other on the cam gears like the specs call for. But the dizzy is showing the #1 location on the top right 1:00 position and not the lower left 7:00 position. Every thing lines up except the dizzy locations. The dizzy is from a B16A2 99-00 civic si, Is there something else I should do? Any help would be great. Thanks

Time it with a timing gun to be accurate if everything is lined up

Are you sure the dizzy isn't installed 180 degrees off?

I think so because it can only fit into the cam one way

It's suppose to go in a certain way, but I've pulled several off of customers cars who couldn't get their cars running and it was cause they installed their dizzy's on backwards. The fact that you are saying the rotor is at position 1 instead of 7 which is 180 degrees off makes me suggest the dizzy was installed wrong.

I agree about it being 180 off but How do I get the dizzy to go in another way when it can only line up with the cam in one position. DO I just focus on lining up the dizzy the right way and have the timing marks off on the cam gears, Someone was saying in a different thread the timing marks wont be the same with the ls/vtec because the LS is sits higher than the b16.

Timing marks being sligtly off is totally different than the distributer not even in the right firing order. You did the right thing by finding out the rotor is at the wrong spot at tdc.

Now try to flip the gear then rotate the motor over see where your at and make sure everythings cool.

Like I already said, despite what many believe, the dizzy can go into the cam slot the wrong way. I've seen it done and remedied the problem several times.

True, not that hard to do.
