the issue is that i have a jdm b18c in a 00 si. its running on the b16 stock ecu. so i wanted to put a type r map into it so i have a jdm p72 ecu socketed and a p28 ecu socketed. i burn a jdm map for the p72 square ecu and a usdm map for the p28. hooked the p28 up it didnt work well. ive come to the conclusion that the p28 has a problem. so i hook up the jdm ecu it runs fine until vtec(witch does not come on.) then it throws cel.

my question is with a jdm ecu do i have to tap the vtps to the vtec solinoid?? my solinoid has the vtps on it as its a usdm solinoid on jdm motor and the connector is hooked up..

also do i have to undo the cfk trick?? ive tried both ways it dosent seem to make a diffrence tho..

i will check that code 2mar as it not my ecu... im guessing either iab or vtps but its a jdm ecu i really need 2 check that code.

 

Why use the Type-R ECU? It makes more sense to run the B18C ECU and have better gas and reasonable performance.

 

both ecu's are chipped i want to run the type r base map as i have skunk2 manifold and crower stage 1 cams. of corse i wont be reving past 8300 tho.. also the b18c ecu is not mine.

ill be trying another chipped p28 later on in the day ill post my results
