Default Cometic HeadGasket GB -- HondaSaver Style

Here is the deal on the Cometic Gaskets.

Cometic operates on a Just In Time (JIT) inventory system. This means they do not produce gaskets until there is an order to be filled. A few of you were worried about delays using this system. Cometic has assured me that they are getting most gaskets out in a week. I placed an order for 5 gaskets on Friday (08/09) (these have already been sold), so we will see if this holds true. Scott told me they would ship on Wednesday (08/14).

Since there are so many different bore sizes, thicknesses and applications I cannot keep these in stock until I know what is going to sell and what isn’t.

Here is how the GB will work. Orders will be grouped by weeks. All the orders I receive by noon each Friday will be called into Cometic Friday afternoon. Cometic will manufacture those gaskets and they will ship the next week.

Here’s what’s available.

Cometic's MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) Gaskets

These are constructed of two nitrile coated outer embossed spring steel layers with a steel inner layer that provides support to the gasket allowing multiple thicknesses. Cometic gaskets withstand the shearing forces created by aluminum heads on cast iron blocks. Once the gasket takes a torque set, there is no re-torquing required. Less clamping force is required allowing for reduced bore distortion.

Cometic HP Style head gasket
These gaskets have an extra shim around the combustion area to help seal better for cars with turbo, nitrous or supercharger.

Pricing

Cometic MSL Gasket
Thickness: 0.025”, 0.030”, 0.040”, 0.054” $81 shipped
Thickness: 0.067”, 0.078” $126 shipped
Thickness: 0.098”, 0.120” $181 shipped

Cometic HP Gasket
Thickness: 0.036”, 0.043”, 0.057” $101 shipped

To join the GB please send me an e-mail at westkyle@msn.com with Cometic GB in the subject line. I will need your name, address, phone, e-mail and exactly what you want to order (MLS or HP, motor, bore, thickness). I will give you payment instructions once I have this info.

a f22 gasket is not in the catalog, but cometic will custom make any gasket to your specifications.

For those of you that have requested a custom gasket. These are addressed on a case by case basis. There is a form to fill out. I think I have responded to everyone.

Thanks,

Kyle

Questions if I may: If we use the cometic HP gasket, we can't or shouldn't need Golden Eagle to o-ring the block when I have them re-sleeve it?

thanks,
-S
