from what I have gathered, the only real difference between the z6 and y8 is the cam. Someone more knowledgeable about it should chime in for clarity.

i've heard about the cam specs being different. i know the chambers are slightly different (quech area is tighter on the Y8), but i've never considered comparing the rocker assembly...

i would think since it bolts up, as long as the rocker arms line up with the valve stems... and nothing looks like it will bind... it should all work fine.

if i came across something like that i would definatly check the valve adjustment and bolt torque.

from my observation, the only thing I noticed was different was the lost motion assembly retainer plate was a different design on the y8 vs the z6. i didnt get more into the heads to see than that. I have a z6 head sitting on my bench right now, so if someone has a y8 one hanging around (op?!?) we could take some pictures and figure it out at a high level anyway.

thanks guys:
the head casting #P08-8 so...z6
the valvetrain #YSK1B so...y?
yeah i think the Y8 has slightly smaller combustion chambers, but like I said the valvetrain is a whole other animal
I just don't want to bolt the thing on and bend valves and my wallet...
