Default Suspension upgrade maybe

I was thinking of doing another purchase for my R. As it sits right now it is on OEM shocks and H & R springs. Here is where I need alittle advice. I want to lower it an 1" or so but I dont want it dumped. I was thinking of just getting the Spoon Sports springs setup to use with the stock shocks. I dont really want to spend a $1000 for some dampening kit becuase it wil never get adjusted, if you know what I mean. What would gents/ladies do? Any experience with Spoon springs?

I may be wrong, but Spoon springs on OEM shocks will not last too long. If an adjustable shock is not what you want, upgrade the shocks to something like a Tokico blue.

Please dont get tokico blues, i had them and they were worst than stock.

Do it right the first time around, get koni yellows and ground controls.

Then do koni yellows with spoon springs ha.

Thats why i like strut spring combos, you can always change something ha. But the setup i have now(not installed yet) Buddy club N+.

never get ksport coilovers ha, they blow out fast.

I am kind of in the same boat looking at doing the Spoon springs myself. What rate are you looking at going with ?

should have payed better attention reading. If you go with the Spoon "blue"springs you will be just fine on stock shocks, that what they are meant for. They are more of an OE + than "sport" if you ask me.

The only set of Spoon springs I have experience with were way too low and too stiff for stock shocks, no idea if they make other models or not.

The best suggestion (IMO) was already posted above (Koni and GC, or even bilstein sport and GC if you never want to mess with adjusting them).

i just recently bought a set of PIC P2. They are 10k front 8k rear.

i have not been more happy with a purchase. they are not that stiff for dd and have height adjustability. i know that is not really what your looking for but its a plus.

they are not that expensive. they were 780 shipped with 2 day shipping. im not sure what your budget is but i support these and others on here will too.

if you are going to do suspension work, do it right the first time. if you try and go with springs with your OEM setup, your shocks will blow eventually if you do not get the right springs that are not too low etc etc and you will have to shed out money for shocks.

eventually a good shock and spring setup will be the same as a coilover setup...just a thought.

FYI. i have a set of tein basics on my accord and i suggest you stay away from those.
PIC > TEIN

Spoon has 2 styles of springs that they make for the ITR. Progressive Rate and fixed rate... the progresive rates for the ITR are FRONT:6.5(3.6)kg/mm REAR:5.5(2.0)kg/mm and those should do fine on a "stock" or mild upgrade shock. The "way too low and stiff" ones people are talking about are the 8inch Straight springs, and yes those are way low and WAY too stiff for stock. more for use with the coilovers if I am not mistaken
