EM1 Loi's 2001 PY-R Rebuild Thread
i don't really post often in the itr forum but i'm guessing this would be a good time to do so. here is a pic of my old 98 CW-R that i sold to a good buddy of mines so some of you might know who i am.

picked up this car about a month ago from a local autobody shop that bought it from co-part and had it shipped here in california from kansas.
this is what is missing:
- motor
- full interior
- 5lug
- front bumper
- driver side fender
from what i am guess is that this car got stolen twice because when the original owner got it stolen the first time he got it back he replaced all the harness on the car with a 96-97 obd2a gsr.
i found this out after purchasing the car when i noticed that the ecu was obd2a gsr and that the throttle cable was a gsr also. he/she probably found it easier to replace it with whatever that found instead of buying the correct harness for the car. the last owner probably just gave up after it was stolen again.
hence the gsr 4lug disc brakes, gsr rear lcas, and gsr rear shocks.

this is after i cleaned the engine bay and removed all the underdash harness that wasn't the correct one for the car. i purchased a 2000 gsr complete cabin harness with all the fuse boxes.

simple green the full interior and cleaned every little spot

installing the correct obd2b complete cabin harness with the small type fuse box instead of the huge fuses

then when i lifted the car i noticed a cut hard line so i ordered a new one from the dealer and went to work

had to drop the gas tank and the front subframe to remove the line. don't mind the dirty gas tank and front subframe everything was cleaned looking brand new when they went back on...

i will keep you guys updated..

I really REALLY need to replace my gas tank.
And clean my undercarriage. The bays at my work don't have hoses long enough to get under my car while on a lift.
I've pulled my subframe to replace it(had a hole drilled in it, lol.)
I couldn't imagine doing that on my back. I wanted to die after pulling it all apart(full suspension, etc) and putting it back on then aligning it.
I salute you sir.

redcoupe - yeah removing the gas tank and the front subframe was not easy alone. i have a bunch of lazy brothers that rather play games than help.
apathy47's armrest he sold me
that was VERY soiled and i cleaned it up. trunk mat, 98 spec mats i used for 1k and brand new ukdm mats
