Default painted calipers!

Ok, I recently re-did my calipers using oven cleaner and baking them(I rebuilt them afterwards) and figured using a metal brush to get the crap off would be enough to promote the paint to stick to the surface. Well yesterday I dropped one on accident and some paint chipped off, should the paint be bonded better than this? anyone have any tips for putting a second layer on them? should I wetsand them first?

I've never had problems with adhesion with that paint. Sure it starts to chip after a year or two, but if you didn't want it to do that you should have powder coated them.
