Default "Adjustable" Cam Gears

I've kinda been getting the run around on this subject so I wanna see what you all think about this:

I'm looking at maybe getting some Skunk2 Adjustable Cam Gears for my '01 Prelude, but a friend of mine has been telling me it would be a waste of time and money. He's also got a Lude that he's played around with and from what he says adjusting the cams even 1 degree will cause the engine to sieze. Supposedly the stock ECU cannot handle the advance time on the Cam Gears, or at least this is what he's said. Has anyone run into this? From what I've read the recommended adjustment for a H22A is 2.5 degrees advance both intake and exhaust. So anyone that has played around with their cam gears settings let me know or if you can offer any help.

I don't have them, but many others do and I never hear of anyone having problems like seizing. I don't know that you will get much benefit from them if you don't already have some mods done. You should also get them tuned on a dyno if you want to get any benefit from them.

they are a waste of money UNLESS you have them properly TUNED on a dyno, playing with them on the road to see what feels faster and what not is not a way to tune cam gears.
