will i know this is a knoob question but i was getting ready to buy a lsd tranny and the guy say is a itr transmission but i see the sticker on the tranny read the code s80 #######? is s80 a gsr tranny ?thanks in advance of all the help provide thanks

look through the hole inside the trans where the axel goes...if you can see all the way through its LSD, if you cant, its not. does that help?

yeah i look at my friends stock gsr it say s80 also on the tranny?

 

thats a true fact?for sure im goin to go check it out before i buy it his askin for like 1200 and is still in his car i dont want to waste allot of money if its not lsd

 

more info i found....which probably makes it more confusing.....

S80 -- found in Integra Type R 98+ (LSD), JDM SiR-G (optional LSD), JDM 96-97 Integra R (LSD), JDM Civic R [EK9] (LSD), JDM Civic SiR [EK4, EG6] (optional LSD).

weighing the odds, i would say yes it would be LSD.

 

s80 were all shared by the gsr/itr and ls. the way to tell if it's LSD is to look at the hole where the half shaft goes through. if u can see through it then it's lsd, if u see a little bar in there it isnt lsd.

it cam on the sirII swap as well which was a b16 swap....

the only difference in the tranny is the final drive ratio.

in this case yes im sort of wrong, in other cases, i would be right

I got a LSD S4C ! And i believe only difference from a s4c to a s80 is 4th and 5th are different .

 

for sure thanks for alll the info guys honda-tech gave me allot of ways to check if the tranny is lsd

 

original lsd trannies are stamped lsd and you are able to see straight through the axle hole
