i want to buy skunk2 cams but not sure what to go with . how much power will i gain with the skunk2 cams and will i pass the sniffer i live in ca. also it is a 97 jdm type r

 

what other mods do you have to back up the use of cams? and which skunk2 cams were you refering to?

 

i have the dc 2.5 racing header ,skunk2 intake manfold ,intake, no cat, and cat back exhaust,

 

you could easily run buddyclub 3+ or skunk2 stage 1

 

with out changing anything but the cam gear and which one the pro skunk 2 cams will i pass smog.

 

has anybody stuck skunk2 TUNER SERIES CAMSHAFTS stage 1 in there type r and how much power gain was it

 

I wouldnt think you would be able to pass smog anyways since you dont have a cat.

I'm currently looking for cams for my car aswell, and need help with recommendations. My set up as follows; S2 Pro man, DC racing header, 2.5inch cat back, aem intake, and an S100.

Which cam shaft would I be able to buy to give me the best power increase while still passing the tail pipe emissions. Like the OP I also live in Cali.


Edit: I also currently dyno'd my car and made 182whp on a dyno jet. My plans with the set up is to keep it N/A and aim for ~200whp.
I'm hoping it's attainable, considering my only mods are I/h/e so far.

 

Why you care about passing the sniffer if you have other mods that will give themselves away?

I had blox B's (like Skunk stage 2) and buddy club 3+
I liked the buddy club 3+ more because of the torque even though the Blox B's made almost 10whp more

Not everything is about max horse power

Does anyone have any help with this subject? I searched as best as I could but I cant really find much as far as cams which pass emissions. There's tons of info on cams, but I couldn't find much on whether they would pass the sniffer or not.

 

why not just pay the 200 for it to pass smog without really getting it smog
