power door lock wiring
This is something that i've been considering for a while and hopefully somebody can help me out. We all kno that the power door lock switch is one fairly easy way for someone to break into the car. Furthermore, i kno that many people just unhook the switch from teh wiring harness and/or replace the door handle cover with a RS door handle cover. But y not go one step further and relocate the power door lock(PDL) switch to somewhere else, like next to the ebrake. A lot of cars come like this stock so i'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find a switch that might work. I know the powerdoorlock on the old mercedes SL500 looks about the perfect size and looks just nice too.
But how the hell would u wire it? Thats my question. I know that alarms are often hooked up so that they trigger the PDL and act as a keyless entry. Where and how can such a thing be wired? Anybody kno?
I'm sure this would be something that could be an appealing custom mod to the interior as well as something that would if nothing else give me a little more peace of mind. And yes, i know they can still get into my car... but like i said... i'd feel a whole lot better. haha.

my friend hooked mine up for me so I'm not 100% sure of the details... I have mine set up like the BMW's where the power door locks controls are set up by the shifter/center console around the shifter.. i might try to get the power window switches there like the BMWs also..
anyway the power door lock system is a negative trigger system... when you press the switch in whatever desired position it grounds itself and completes the circuit.. so all you need is a power door lock switch w/ 3 positions (normal, lock, unlock) and wire up the lock, unlock and ground I believe...
any1 please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.. but this is how I believe he told me it works/is wired..

Thats pretty much how i figured it would be for the wiring... but do you know where i can splice into the powerdoor lock wires other than from the door? Cuz i'm thinking there is another place i can find them leadin to. perhaps to the fuses in the interior? Help....
