Default Slotted, Drilled, Slotted and Drilled, or Blanks?

Hey im looking at the brembo rotors. But I dont know which to get. I heard that the S&D starts to warp. They are the stock size right? But should I get the Slotted, Drilled, or just the Blanks. Im doing the legend caliper upgrade but im just finalizing decisions before I buy anything. Also, were can you get new calipers? I checked the local junkyards and they dont have it. Thanks

Well most people on here favor the blanks becuase they are cheapier. I think i would go with slotted though imo. For the calipers you can try here http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.net/ hope this helped

Edit ~ how much are you looking to get for the h22?

Why does every place charge a core price? So if I buy it, I have to send in my stock ones? Is it ok if they arent even the legend ones? Damn I want them bad but I cant find it!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is your application?
If it's for street driving you will only need blanks.
If you autocross then you will want slotted and drilled.
The slots help get rid of the brake dust and what not while the holes are for cooling.
In normal street driving blanks will do you fine. You won't need slotted and drilled unless you go to the track and have to do alot of braking.
LMAO! I used to have drilled, and the difference over stock was negligible (if any)... I happily tossed them in the trash recently in exchange for a set of Brembo blanks, which I'm 100 times happier with...

All of the road racers on HT use blanks by the way...

Oh really? Explain why the Porsche I use for auto-x and will use for club events has drilled/slotted discs. They make a huge difference on the track IMO as long as they are fronts, my rears are still stock, but you get my point.

Porsche also has 13"+ brakes to help dissapate the heat, and are designed to stop from 160mph speeds... the fact is that the xdrilled rotors on an Accord don't do ****, and still warp easily.

Because porches are stylish cars and need to have all that bLing style to help them sell. I would not recomend slotted or drilled rotors unless you have a large brake upgrade. The rotor is made to absorb heat and if there is less material it can not absorb as mush heat. If you are cooking the brakes go to home depot and buy some 3in aluminum dryer ducting and fab some brake ducts.

Hey I called them, and neither of them had it, or at least they said they didnt have them. Im starting ot get pissed now, this cool project is going down the *******. Do the places that charge the core price require that you turn in your stock ones? Cuz if so, I really dont want to give them mine. Thanks for the help though guys. Everyplace ive tried requires a core price.

Hey I can just get the v6 rotors now an install them with my 96ex calipers right? Then whenever I find the legend ones I can upgrade them right? Is there any point in getting brembo blanks for the rears? Ill get pads for sure, but is there any point?

How can you even compare Porsche brakes to some aftermarket stock sized drilled/slotted rotors that were never designed to be that way???????

Do a search and you will find most racers use stock sized blanks, but buy really good pads.

The stock discs were blanks. They tended to overheat and crack after hard use, so I switched to drilled/slotted discs and I haven't had a problem since.

sorry for ninja-ing this thread but i just got my brembo blanks with OEM pads. how should i go about breaking them in. im being as gentle as possible with them and ive got 60 miles on it roughly. someone here once said something about going 60-0 and do a hard stop? is this true.

any pointers on breaking in my application would be greatly apreciated. thanks

Go gently so you don't glaze the pads. Just break them in over about 200miles and you should be fine.

to bed them in properly, 60-0 stops reapeat 5-6 times, BUT not locking up brakes, progressively harder, until on 6th stop apply about 80% brake pressure, let cool(preferable by driving at speed) do not let pads "sit" on rotors when doing this.

All pads have different proceedures. Look on the back of the box.

Yeah, I almost got pulled over trying to break mine in.... I was accelerating to 60 in a 35 zone, and then saw 2 cops in a church parking lot... as I slammed on my brakes, they looked over at me, but thankfully did nothing...
