What Crankshaft is compatable with D16z6 single v-tec.
ok, where the harmonic balancer goes to spin the alternator,ac,and power steering well that bolt broke off into their and i drilled it out and ****ed the threads up. so i welded my pulley on well it finally came back off 4 months later. right along with the timing belt sprocket lol. well i took my engine and tranny out last night and either am gunna change my whole block or im gunna change the crank out. just curious what cranks will fit in it and which will be the best.
I had a friend telling me putting a d15b7 crank and pistons in will be like stroking it out. to me it sounds stupid i don't see how thats gunna stoke out a d16.
any help will help.

JDM SOHC Vtec ZC. D15B7 cranks (actually all D15B cranks, including the D15B Vtec) have smaller main journals and bearings than the D16Z6.
i have a d15b7 crankshaft but when i went to autozone to match the part numbers up the d16z6 had a diffrent part number on the crankshaft than the b7. why is that?
im not sure if this is right but i heard you can used the crank from the DOHC zc...found in the late 80's integra...or you can just used the d16Y8 crank or another d16z6 crank
I want the best crank for power.

if you want a good quality crank then go for aftermarket. eagle makes really good stuff to start with, but it should definitely be balanced before install.
the y8 and the z6 are almost identical engines and im pretty confident the cranks will swap. but there are definitely a few things that really should be done before swapping.
a big help here would be knowing a budget range. whether or not aftermarket is possible or not.
1st is cleaning the block, any machine shop will probably have a hot tank and having them put it in there for a good cleaning shouldnt cost very much.
after cleaning, having the main bores line-honed, and the cyl bores re-honed.
if you are doing the assembly then after the cylinders are honed you need to wash them with warm soapy water, not solvent.
ok, well im not gonna get too deep into this yet. let us know a budget range......that will help ALOT.

if it is dirty in all i need prices. i really dont wanna take the head off though.
i have looked onto all types of cranks being i have to fix mine on get a new one myself. every one i have talked to tell me i'm better off staying with the D16 Z6 crank. or change to a bigger engine. not wanting to change everything though. i like my D16 Z6 better.
I have been trying to find a crank for my D16 and just came across this site today.

the z6 is prob the best crank having 2 oiling ports for the rods vs the y7-y8 having one. almost any d16 crank will fit and work. the d16a1 is known for having a steel girddle.

I have a D16Z6 sitting in my garage too.
Out of my 93 del sol si auto (never been revved)
Has a slightly leaking head gasket so I just swapped it with a fresher one.
I'm in central Florida east coast. Probably a good deal if you need a crankshaft. If your nearby PM me.
Oh I see you're in Texas. Sorry.
