Default time for a new header

i have a 2000 ITR, anyways i got it and it has a rusty beat up DC Sports header. some oil fumes are collecting on my hood and i think its cuz of this thing. anyways im in the market for a better performing header...

i know the best header i could get is a Hy-tech header but those things are around 1500 dollars. Next best is a Spoon header and thats still to much.

In my price range ive heard that Kamikaze, and OBX 4-2-1 are the best. I dont really want a DC or Greddy or Skunk2 as ive heard they arent that great. Anyways if i got a OBX or Kamikaze header would that fit the rest of the DC sports exhaust or would i need to get an entire exhaust system?

You should honestly wait for a good deal to pop up on the SMSP / Hytech headers. I was patient enough to get my Hytech Antireversion Header for 550$

OBX is junk, and Kamikaze have always been used for supercharger applications.

If you want to keep your cat, I suggest getting a jdm 4-1, and should bolt up. If you don't mind losing the cat, go with a hytech replica. Both are around $400 give or take. You'll see more gains with the replica tho.

Search the classifieds and see if you can find a used toda, or anr header for a good price.

With the JDM 4-1 it has a 2.5 collector and USDM has a 2.25 collector size. So it won't bolt up. So keep that in mind.

Hytech replica looks like a great idea, i saw one for sale for 200 dollars, but because of the length of the pipes ive read that it doesnt fit with the Type R transmission

I have been doing quite a bit of research about this as i am looking for a new header as well. I know you mentioned that skunk2 is not good but i have read otherwise. In fact, there is a thread in the all motor forum that has showed the skunk2 dynoed more HP than the replica hytech and the RMF narrow replica. And the quality is amazing from what i understand, full SS construction with back purged welds. I think the skunk2 is the "best bang for the buck" quality header that is currently on the market.

I'm wondering if the guy who put up the ITR mod and dyno results on a school website is here on HT. It had dyno results and reviews of ITR mods. I had it bookmarked but the URL is invalid. IIRC it had comparisons of USDM, JDM 4-1, and some other brands.

dude,

there is a brand new toda header for sale in the FS/WTB sticky up top. hes selling it for only $650.

i would jump on that.

OBX will not do the job and will fail after a short period of time.

the kamikaze header is not a good all motor header or non forced induction header. its because of its short primaries.

Undoubtedly the best choice, if you can find them.

I was patient enough to get my Hytech Antireversion Header for 550$

Oh. And, ummm....without getting into the morality argument about whether or not you should sell copies of non-copyrighted, non-trademarked headers, if you're on a budget you might want to consider the possibility of:

https://honda-tech.com/forums/performance-45/famous-replica-header-%2Arace-proven-design%2A-low-prices-nitrate-coated-2052395/

If you aren't in the morality argument.

I went with the 5-zigen 4-2-1 header from HMotorsonline.com. Try looking there, call and talk to Steve. He is pretty fair about prices. Be patient bro, you dont want to buy some P.O.S. and have it crap on you.

i havent wanted a turbo in.... months. i definatly wouldnt put a turbo on a Type R. if i ever get an LS i will turbo that. but not a R, the most id do is a supercharger.

Right now im just fixing up a few things, new pedals (stock ones have zero grip anymore), JDM steering wheel, painting white with the JDM white rims. And HOPEFULLY a new header. this DC sports one has to go, i had a great deal for a 200 dollar Hytech Replica the other day but they girl didnt wanna ship it. which ruined that.
