Not getting spark! Im stumped!
Well to start off i just threw in a motor i put together. Its a 94 spec USDM D16Z6. Did a wire tuck, and ect. but thats not important. First of all, yesterday i was trying to start it and it just cranks, I was throwing a code, so then i check it and im throwing 15(Igniton output signal), 21(Vtec spool)not hooked up) and 41 (Primary oxygen sensor heater). so being the Nerd i am i hop on H-t and do some searching, came up as That it was probably the ICM(ignition Control Module) so I take apart my dizzy and it looks like Some one dipped it in salt water for a day and then let it dry. So i Look for another one and bam! i find one the homie that I sold my d15b vtec head still hasnt used it> so i go barrow that right now and then time it blah blah blah and hook it up(Btw i know it works i used it not more than 2 months ago fine!) Reset the ECU! and check code. BAM!!!! only code im thorwing now is 21(vtec spool) so i try cranking and Nothing! Just cranks dosnt turn over. I pull all plugs and nothing there not burnt.(Brand new NGK's) So im stumped. What can cause this? im recharging the battery over night just to make sure and also ima go get some wires that i know that work.
Any other opinnions will help. Im stumped.
BTW all wires in the wire tuck were Soldered and heat shrinked with Electrical tape. And i aslo followed the haynes wiring diagram.
Help please. thanks in advance.

The new dizzy is a know working one!
Also my fuel pump is priming, i know has nothing to do with spark but just Thought i might throw that in there.
there is the coil and the igniter which may both be internal in your car.... check the power feed from those and that may be your problem. much cheaper than replacing your whole dizzy.
thermostat ground would not give your car spark... try that? also coils have been known to screw people over.

As already mentioned, check the ground wire connection on the thermostat housing and also use a voltmeter to test whether the Blk/Yel wire connected to the coil and igniter in the distributor has battery voltage when the key is turned to ON(II).
i didn't see where you said it but i guess you did check to see a spark? (spark tester or long screwdriver)
yeah, if you don't have spark, you need to be sure the coil is good and the ignitor is good (both inside the distributor) a good quality test light and some hand tools should be all you need to check it. sorry, i can't remember the wires to check for signal off the top of my head. you're manual should show you. check input and output of the ignitor (looks like a little black box the size of a Zippo with 4 or 5 wires screwed to it). if you have good signals there, go ahead and replace the coil.
honestly, i'm not sure about the VTEC spool code. maybe someone else can shead some light on that issue.

so did you check the fuses there is a 7.5 amp fuse that controls the the distributor. i would start their before spending $$ and chasing your tail. if the fuse is good recheck the wire harness.
So i need to take off the cap right.
And then check all of them.
BTW why do i need to check the Ignitor and Coil if i know the dizzy works?

if you have spark you don't have to check the ignitor or coil. the presence of spark prooves that they work. pulling the cap off of the distributor though is the quickest and easiest way to see if the timing belt is broken.
I dont have the cover on the timming belt its not broken, its new.
There is no spark at the Spark plugs!
Ok ill make a MS print up so you guys can under stand me.
Also if the plugs are new and you cranked it and there was spark wouldnt they be burnt? Mines arnt! there not burnt.
They come out brand spanking new!

[QUOTE=94EGKUSH;37740475]If any grounds were loose the car wouldnt crank at all!
thats not tru if they are not tightened but on there the car will crank over and occassionally start but its noticable driving when that happenes

but that wouldnt explain why im getting no spark?
Checked there all good!
Ok Guys look!
i dont need a coil.
Everything is fine exept im not getting spark at the Plugs.
the dizzy im positive it works.
The wires too, but the damn Spark pplugs dont look burnt.
when you put new plugs in a car and check em do the spark get them burnt or the Combustion chamber is the culprut?
Because i can check spark myself need help.
so if it dosnt burn maybe its the fuel. help me out!

Do you measure 12V at the coil or igniter when the key is turned to ON(II)?
Have you cleaned and tightened the ground wires?
Does the CEL stay ON when the key is turned to ON(II)?
